Telstra × Booking.com connects accommodation bookings with Telstra Plus rewards. I worked on product design for the partnership experience from January to March 2025.
A benefit within an existing relationship
The proposition brings travel into a service customers already use. The central challenge is making the connection between a booking and its rewards clear, while preserving a recognisable experience across Telstra and Booking.com.
The design focus
The journey needs to explain the offer, orient customers as they move between services and keep the rewards benefit in view. Clarity at these transitions matters as much as the booking interface itself.
The key design question is how a customer understands a travel reward before committing to a booking. The experience involves two brands, a purchase decision and the expectation of receiving points, each carrying a different information need.
Understanding the value
Offer information needs to answer three questions: what benefit is available, who can access it and how the booking connects to Telstra Plus. Keeping those answers close to the action helps customers judge the offer in context.
Continuity across services
A handover between brands can introduce uncertainty about where the customer is and what happens next. Consistent wording and clear expectations are therefore central considerations for the partnership journey.

04 / PROJECT DETAIL
The project brings the Telstra Plus rewards proposition into an accommodation-booking experience. My product-design contribution focused on the relationship between the customer benefit and the journey to booking.
A connected proposition
The design story links discovery of the offer with the customer’s intention to book travel. The rewards message provides a reason to continue; the surrounding information explains how the two services relate.
Clarity at the handover
The experience needs to preserve confidence when moving from Telstra into Booking.com. Clear next steps and recognisable partnership cues support continuity through that transition.
Reported project outcomes include 85% user engagement, 8,832 bookings and 11.3 million points earned.
Value for customers and the business
The partnership connects a practical travel purchase with an existing loyalty programme. Bookings and points earned demonstrate use of the combined proposition, alongside engagement with the experience.
