01 / Context

01 / Context

My Carconnect brings vehicle discovery, dealer negotiation, rewards and ongoing ownership into a single mobile experience. The design challenge was to connect the high-consideration moment of buying a car with the smaller, recurring tasks that follow it.

The problem to solve

A customer needs different information at each stage: confidence when comparing a vehicle, clarity about the next step during purchase, and practical value after delivery. Treating these as separate screens risks losing the relationship between them. The project focused on a dependable journey that could support both a first purchase and a reason to return.

Scope and priorities

My contribution covered UX and UI design, from task flows and prototypes through to reusable mobile patterns. The priorities were clear next steps, familiar interactions and continuity between discovery, vehicle details, rewards and fuel discovery.

02 / Research

02 / Research

Journey mapping, stakeholder conversations and reviews of existing flows framed the experience from first search through to everyday ownership. This helped connect purchase decisions with the practical reasons a customer would return after buying a car.

Reassurance at decision points

The discovery work highlighted reassurance, simple choices and a reliable place to return as customers’ needs changed. These themes informed clearer vehicle-information hierarchy, more direct language around the next action and connected ownership features.

Turning the journey into prototypes

Task flows and low-fidelity prototypes explored onboarding, vehicle details, rewards and fuel discovery. Prototypes were used to examine information order, language and the confidence each step needed to create before translating the approach into reusable mobile patterns.

03 / Summary

03 / Summary

The design moved from individual tasks to a coherent mobile system. Onboarding, vehicle information and ownership features shared patterns, while each retained the information needed for its particular decision.

Design decisions

The interface emphasised a clear next action, structured vehicle information and continuity across rewards and ownership tasks. Prototypes helped assess hierarchy and language before those decisions became reusable components and interaction states.

Delivery

I worked with engineering on build-ready patterns, states and handoff guidance. The result was a shared design foundation that could accommodate new services without treating every feature as an isolated experience.

04 / Impact

04 / Impact

Reported project outcomes include a 24% increase in customer retention, 14% ordering a car through the app and a 4% improvement in conversion.

A foundation beyond the purchase

The work connected the buying journey with rewards and everyday ownership tasks, giving the product a continuing role after delivery. Shared interface patterns and clearer states also gave design and engineering a consistent foundation for adding services.
